Extensions and Time Management
So here’s the story. I have a TMA (assignment to the uninitiated) due on Thursday. Yesterday, when every sane person in Edinburgh was sunning themselves at Portobello beach, or taking long, leisurely strolls in the the sunny meadows of Arthur’s Seat, or sipping ice cold beers down at the shore of Leith, I was stuck behind a laptop screen frantically trying to get a Java iteration to work.
Question 2 of the assignment is, quite frankly, slowly driving me insane. Just as I think I’ve got my head round it, I realise the course team has decided to change the access methods for a class and make them private.
So, after much frustration, gnashing of teeth and such like and after realising I had to devote some time to my impending driving theory test this Wednesday, I decided to take the bulls by the horns and email my tutor requesting an extension.
Since then, I’ve been nervously checking FirstClass (the OU interactive teaching client – forums ‘n’ stuff) every hour on the hour for some kind of response to no avail. I must say, it feels not unlike a “the dog ate my homework“ kind of situation!
